The Weekly Digest
Don’t just “use” tech! Find ways to “turn” tech into opportunities! 💡
Everything can be transformed into content and opportunities! 📺
(Watch the full video of my interview with Wonderful World English’s Dave De’Ath to learn more about his community of global English learners!)
Staying motivated in your English learning journey can be challenging, but finding practical applications in daily life can keep the momentum going. Here are some ways to integrate what you learn into your everyday experiences:
📺 Pause and Analyze Media: While watching clips or movies, pause to look up unfamiliar terms or phrases. Analyze why certain quotes resonate more than others.
🖼️ Engage with Content: Try rewriting catchy quotes in your own words or creating your own versions based on what you’ve learned.
👋 Connect with Real Life: Look for opportunities to use new vocabulary in conversations or writing, whether it’s with friends or in social media posts.
In addition to enhancing your language skills, consider how these practices can apply to your career:
📷 Content Creation: If a location or a concept inspires you, think about how you could create content around it—like a blog post or video. A new restaurant nearby could be a source of content!
🛜 Networking Opportunities: Attend events or workshops and practice your English while meeting new people who share your interests. Even a hobby store, a random tech booth, or a bookstore could be a place to build connections!
💸 Monetization Ideas: Explore ways to transform everyday experiences into business ideas, such as offering guided tours of interesting places you discover.
By actively seeking out these applications, you’ll stay motivated and find new avenues for personal and professional growth.

Inside Teaching
Meet Dave De’Ath of Wonderful World English!
Will AI replace teachers? Dave doesn’t think so!
This week, we spotlight Dave De'Ath, founder of Wonderful World English. He shares his insights on whether AI will replace teachers:
Human Connection is Key: Teaching is about building relationships, and AI lacks this essential element.
AI as a Tool: While AI can assist in transferring knowledge, it cannot replicate the nuanced interactions between teachers and students.
Community Learning: Learning English with humans fosters networking opportunities that are invaluable for career growth.
Dave emphasizes that while AI is a blessing for convenience, it should never replace the human touch in education.
Learner's Insights
Ever wondered how other applicants nail their interviews? It’s all in the rehearsal! 🎤

And you can do this by yourself! 🪞
A great way to enhance your English speaking skills is through mock interviews. Here’s how you can do it:
Choose Relevant Topics: Pick subjects related to your desired job in tech or freelancing.
Simulate Real Interviews: Set up a fake interview scenario with a friend or record yourself answering common interview questions.
Seek Feedback: After your practice session, ask for constructive criticism on your language use and confidence.
(And no one’s stopping you from turning this into your interview as a Hollywood superstar! 😉 )
You can start this within the next hour! Join the EZ English community for more resources and support on your journey.
Today’s Good Future Tip
Curious about something? See if Reddit has something to say 🔍
While Google is the most popular way of learning about something, Reddit is the best place to search if you’re looking for something extremely specific.
Since there are subreddits for almost any interest, your extremely specific search queries might be answered in a Reddit thread than any other website. This is especially helpful if you have a specific tech problem, or other niche concerns. To do this, you simply need to:
Add the site:reddit.com
operator or simply reddit.com
at the end of your search query.

Want to get yourself out there 🗺️? Create content out of your industry trends! 📱
Saw an industry trend you feel people need to know? Just share it!

Dive into Twitter (X) and explore hashtags like #AI or #ChatGPT. Here’s how to leverage this for your career:
📰 Skim Recent Tweets: Look at the top 10 tweets discussing current AI developments, or trends in your career of choice.
📖 Research Further: Open at least two links from these tweets or conduct a Google search on the topic. This will also help you stay informed on recent trends and how they can affect your career.
🔍 Share Your Insights: Summarize what you learned in 2-3 sentences and post it as a tweet or LinkedIn update, giving credit to the original source.
This practice not only keeps you informed but also establishes your presence as a professional in your field. Having your own feed of industry news and insights not only shows potential colleagues that you’re active in your community, but that you’re also committed to sharing the latest trends.
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter! We appreciate your commitment to personal growth and look forward to seeing you thrive.
See you next week!
