Want to pursue a career in tech? Think like this CEO! 💡
Always think about ways you can solve a problem! 🧩
(Watch the full video of my interview with Schola’s Shawn Hoffman to learn more about his AirBnb of Schools)
If you’re planning on leveling 🆙 your career this 2025, there’s a lot in tech you can get into (we dive deep into that over at Imagine AI Live), and learning English can be your gateway to success! Our interview covers major lessons such as:
🗺️Immersion is important! If you have the opportunity - travel! It doesn’t have to be another country or region - it could be another city, town, or even area close to you. Interact with people in English to practice your speaking skills, and observe the local culture to understand their language nuances.
🛠️ Use the tools around you! You don’t have to “reinvent” the wheel - use the tools that exist around you. If you want to get into tech fast, utilize existing tools and technologies like automation and AI to streamline your processes.
🧩 Find a puzzle to solve! Shawn Hoffman invented Schola because he believed there’s a better way to make education more accessible to others. If you want to get into tech, your concept needs to solve a problem people are currently having. The greatest ideas come from a desire to make the world better.
These are very high-level tips from one CEO to another, so here’s how you can apply them to your perspective as someone who’s just planning to get into tech:
📱Choose a platform you’re already familiar with: If you spend a lot of time with tech, choose a platform you spend a lot of time on:
Social media: Are you so exposed to social media you’re familiar with the latest trends and how creators use them to go viral? You can be a social media manager!
Gaming: Do you love gaming so much and think you’re skilled enough to go pro? You can be a content creator or a streamer! Maybe even be a game tester!
Office tools: Do you know how to use word processors and spreadsheets? Maybe you can be a virtual assistant!
🎤 Improve your communication skills: A lot of applications all boil down to how well you communicate your ideas to your potential employers. Technical skill is one thing, but it’s also important that we communicate ourselves properly so instructions and feedback are always clear.
📋 Build your portfolio: See if you already have existing skills to create a portfolio you can use to apply for tech-related work. If not, see if you can start projects you can add to your portfolio related to your platform of choice. Maybe you can grow a hobby channel for a social media management portfolio?

In today’s day and age where everyone can become content creators and get themselves out there, you shouldn’t hesitate to showcase what you know!

Today’s Good Future Tip
Google is your friend - Operators will make it your best friend! 🙏
The Good Future Method believes in searching for things you don’t know in order to improve your knowledge. Google is a great place for that, but its Search Operators can make it the BEST way to apply the Good Future Method.
Search Operators are basically special characters you add to your search query to filter the results you get. Here are some popular examples:
- [X] AND [Y]
means you want results related to words X
and Y
- [X] OR [Y]
means you want results related to words X
or Y
- filetype:[extension]
means you’re looking for a specific file type
- site:[URL]
means you’re only looking for results within a website
- intitle:[word/s]
means you’re only looking for results that have a specific word in the title
These should make your Google searches more specific!

Stuck in a content block 📓😭? Make brainstorming a habit! 🧠
Already decided to be a content creator but have no idea where to start?
Use your breaks to get to big ideas! ⬆️
Taking short breaks can lead to big ideas! Here’s how to make the most of those 5–10 minute moments:
🗒️Keep a List Handy: Use your phone to jot down content ideas whenever inspiration strikes.
🗓️ Set Reminders: Schedule short breaks throughout your day specifically for brainstorming.
⏰ Limit Your Time: Challenge yourself to come up with 1–3 ideas during each break—this keeps it manageable.
📋 Review Regularly: At the end of the week, look over your accumulated ideas and choose a few to develop further.
This approach helps build a valuable content bank for when you have more time to create!
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter! We appreciate your commitment to personal growth and look forward to seeing you thrive.
See you next week!
